OTHER CREATIVE PRACTICES
Throughout 2020, I've had the pleasure of working within the business team at QUT's student run record label, Vermilion Records. My main experiences within the label have been in Event Coordination & engagement, and Website Design. I also took part in Amplifying a Publisher, where I recorded and produced an audio book for Deborah Kelly's 'The Thing About Oliver'.
Event Coordination
In September, with COVID restricitions easing, I was able to take the lead in organising two events in collaboration with Black Bear Lodge in Fortitude Valley. The first SOLD OUT out event on September 23rd featured two of Vermilions Female RnB artists, JAAMY and Bianca Power.

The second SOLD OUT event on September 30th featured Indie-Pop artist with Folk & Jazz influences Red Le Clerc, alongside Indie-Rock band with RnB & Jazz influences ALLORA.

My roles within making these events happen were as event planner and manager, venue liaison, and social media marketting. I have had ample experience in this area through my position in QUT's Creative Industry Society for the last 2 years, in which we successfully ran the second ever Creative Industries Ball in 2019.
Another collaborative event that I helped organise was with GLASS Media & UQ PUBSOC for their online Uni Writers Festival. Vermilion was featured with a few of our artists in a Young Songwriters Showcase via their online website, as well as showcasing JAAMY and Callum from Callum & Lara at their Closing Party in the Grove Bar on campus.

I took part in this by choosing the artists to be featured for the online songwriters showcase, and as Artist Liaison for the Closing Party.
To wrap up 2020, Vermilion Records will be holding a live streamed showcase from Z9 540 on Nov 6th which I have worked on as Event Manager.
Website Design
At the beginning of 2020, it was my role to re-launch and update the Vermilion Records website. Since then, I've continued to update and maintain the website, as well as launch a much awaited Vermilion Blog! This has been done with the help of Antonia Hickey as our key writer for the project. You can peruse the website here: https://vermilionrecords.com/
But here are some highlights!
The Thing About Oliver - AudioBook
This semester as oart of Amplifying a Publisher, I recorded and produced an audio book for Wombat Books' 'The Thing About Oliver' by Deborah Kelly. The book was read by Isabel Olsson and recorded in QUT's studios over five 3-5hour sessions, then edited and produced by myself over approximately 15-20hours.
